Scheduling and Appointment Policy

This office takes great pride in our ability to provide quality dental care and prompt service.  For patients committed to maintaining their natural dentition we have the following policy regarding office visits:

1. Each appointment is individually scheduled and specifically reserved for you.  We will respect your time and commitment by being on time.  Please do the same for us.
   
   
2. Please schedule appointments you can keep.  Do not schedule appointments at times that are difficult for you to keep.
   
   
3. Our goal is to provide the highest quality of care.  Patients who fail to keep their appointments not only deprive others the opportunity for care but they increase the cost of providing care.  When patients fail to show or cancel at the last minute that cost is passed along to the overall cost of dental care for all.
   

This office requires a minimum of 24 hours notice to reschedule non-surgical appointments and 7 days of notice to reschedule surgical appointments.  Appointments that are cancelled on short notice are difficult to fill and are often unfilled.  We are aware that “situations” arise; however, patients who do not provide the above required notice and fail an appointment are subject to the following policy:

1. A pre-payment deposit prior to scheduling of future appointments with loss of deposit if the appointment is cancelled.
   
   
2. A rescheduling fee for future appointments.
   
   
3. Future appointments will only be scheduled as they become available on a day to day basis and not in advance.
   

Patients who fail to keep their appointments deprive others the opportunity to restore their mouths to health and increase the cost of providing care.  Please help us continue to provide the highest quality service by honoring your appointment commitments. 

Last year we had 600 appointments changed, and an additional 400 appointments were cancelled without 24 hour notice or where patients “no showed” without any telephone call.  For every three appointments kept, one appointment was cancelled or failed.

This office is willing to go the extra mile for our patients who are committed to regaining their dental health.  We provide same day appointments for patients with a dental emergency as well as after hour’s emergency availability.  If we are running late, we call our patients at work and at home so they are not inconvenienced by having to wait in the office.
