INTRODUCING DR. MICHAEL L. COHEN Dr. Cohen has specialty training in Periodontics and Implants at the University of Maryland. With an emphasis on preventive dentistry and periodontal regeneration, Dr. Cohen received the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics as well as induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an honorary dental society. Dr. Cohen earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Emory University in Atlanta. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also completed a General Practice Residency in Dentistry at Prince George's Hospital Center in Cheverly, Maryland. As an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Gerald M. Bowers Study Club. Dr. Cohen resides in the Altoona area with his wife Andrea, an Altoona native, their two children and their redboned coonhound. He devotes his spare time to his family and his other interests include the promotion of health care and the outdoors.
